Islamabad, Apr 20, 2025: Toyota has officially introduced the GR Supra MkV Final Edition in California, marking the curtain call for the fifth generation of this legendary sports car.
This exclusive version, set to hit showrooms by spring 2025, offers a blend of aggressive styling and limited-edition prestige.
Starting at $69,085 including destination, the Final Edition undercuts its Japanese and European siblings in price.
However, this affordability comes with a slight compromise in performance, leading fans to debate whether it’s a true farewell or just a toned-down finale.
Power Drops, but Style Impresses
Under the hood, the U.S. GR Supra Final Edition features a turbocharged 3.0L inline-six engine delivering 382 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque—a noticeable 47-hp drop compared to the 429-hp variant found in Japan and Europe’s A90 Final Editions.
This reduced output has sparked discussions among purists who expected a full-throttle farewell.
Despite the slight dip in power, the Final Edition dazzles with its aesthetics.

Highlights include matte black 19-inch alloy wheels, carbon fiber rear spoiler and side mirrors, red trim highlights, and an interior wrapped in Alcantara upholstery.
Aerodynamic tweaks not only elevate its appearance but enhance on-track performance.
Limited Run, Big Demand
With only 900 units allocated for North America, the MkV Final Edition remains a rare collector’s item.
In contrast, the Japan/Europe-exclusive A90 version is limited to just 150 examples, further intensifying its desirability overseas. Toyota plans to conclude MkV production by 2026.
Supra vs Nissan Z NISMO: A Rivalry Rekindled
As Toyota releases this Final Edition, it aims to challenge the Nissan Z NISMO, priced slightly lower at $66,890.
Sales figures for 2024 show Nissan ahead, with 3,100 Z models sold versus 2,600 Supras.
Toyota is clearly hoping this special edition will give it a late-game edge before transitioning to the next-gen Supra.
Legacy or Missed Chance?
While the Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition stands out in design and value, the reduced engine output leaves some fans divided.
It’s a visually stunning sendoff yet may not fully satisfy performance purists. Regardless, excitement builds for what Toyota has in store for the sixth generation Supra.
