Islamabad, Apr 21, 2025: In a major development to enhance bilateral relations, Pakistan and Rwanda signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on Monday, focusing on economic cooperation and diplomatic engagement.
This move marks a new chapter in strengthening ties between the two friendly nations.
Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Olivier Jean-Patrick Nduhungirehe, arrived in Islamabad, where he received a warm welcome from Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During a joint media briefing after formal discussions, Dr. Nduhungirehe confirmed the signing of an MoU focused on diplomatic training and capacity building.
He also highlighted Rwanda’s intention to explore further institutional partnerships with Pakistan in the near future.
“We are encouraging Pakistani investors and entrepreneurs to visit Rwanda and explore potential sectors for collaboration,” he stated.
He emphasized that both countries share a foundation of mutual respect, shared goals, and a commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation.
He further noted that Rwanda’s current annual exports to Pakistan stand at approximately $26 million, with a keen interest in boosting trade — particularly through the export of premium Rwandan tea.
