Islamabad, 23 April 2025: As PSL runs alongside IPL, fans and cricket experts have had their hands full keeping up with non-stop action.
Among them, commentator Ramiz Raja has been closely following both tournaments—but a recent mix-up revealed just how overlapping the schedules can be.
During the post-match presentation of the PSL clash between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars on Tuesday, Ramiz mistakenly announced the ‘Catch of the Match’ award as the ‘Catch of the IPL’.
The slip occurred when he called Joshua Little forward to receive the accolade. The error drew puzzled expressions from those present at the ceremony and has since made waves on social media.

Some fans in Pakistan called for an apology, suggesting that the mix-up reflected a lack of focus during the country’s premier T20 league.
Others, however, took the incident in stride, seeing it as a light-hearted moment in an otherwise intense tournament.
The match itself was a high-scoring affair, with Multan Sultans registering a 33-run win. Batting first, the home side set a daunting target of 228, largely driven by a powerful 87 off 44 balls from Yasir Khan.

His aggressive strokeplay earned him the Player of the Match award. Iftikhar Ahmed also played a key role, adding a brisk 40 from 18 balls.
In response, Lahore Qalandars struggled to keep up despite a fighting knock of 50 from 27 balls by Sikandar Raza. The team eventually fell short, managing 195 for 9 in their 20 overs.
After the match, Yasir Khan expressed satisfaction over his contribution, saying he had prepared well and was confident in his power-hitting ability.
He said he waited patiently for his opportunity and backed his natural game, which paid off in a crucial match.
