Apply for Fully Funded Chinese Language Scholarships in Pakistan

Islamabad, Apr 28, 2025: Pakistani students eager to explore Chinese language education now have an exciting opportunity ahead.

Chongqing University (CQU) in China is currently accepting applications for the 2025 International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, a fully funded initiative provided by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC).

This prestigious scholarship offers a unique chance for students to enroll in Bachelor’s, Master’s, or non-degree Chinese language programs at one of China’s top educational institutions, with all essential expenses fully covered.

What the Scholarship Includes

Students who are chosen for the scholarship will benefit from:

• Complete tuition coverage
• Complimentary on-campus accommodation
• Full medical insurance
• Monthly stipend:
  • RMB 3,000 for Master’s degree candidates
  • RMB 2,500 for Bachelor’s and non-degree candidates

Programs Offered

1. Master’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education (3 years; 2 years fully funded, 3rd year self-funded)
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (4 years)
3. Non-Degree Programs:
   • One-Year Chinese Language Study
   • One-Semester Chinese Language and Literature Study

Eligibility Criteria

Pakistani applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a non-Chinese citizen aged between 16 and 35 (up to 45 years for in-service teachers).
• Be in excellent physical and mental health.
• Maintain strong academic performance and a good conduct record.
• Demonstrate a keen interest in advancing Chinese language education.
• Achieve the required scores in the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) and HSKK (Oral Test), with a minimum HSK Level 3 to Level 5 depending on the program.

Important Application Deadlines

• For the September 2025 intake: Submit applications by May 11, 2025 (Beijing Time).
• For the March 2026 intake: Submit applications by October 31, 2025 (Beijing Time).

Applicants are required to complete their applications both on the official International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website and Chongqing University’s online portal.
