Islamabad, Apr 28, 2025: WhatsApp is set to enhance its voice recording feature in an upcoming update, streamlining the process to make it quicker and more user-friendly.
The new update will allow users to record voice messages with just one tap, significantly improving the overall experience.
Beta users who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta version 25.13.10.70 for iOS from the TestFlight app are already able to try out this more efficient method for recording voice messages.
The feature simplifies the audio recording process considerably.
At present, WhatsApp offers two ways to send an audio message.
The first method involves holding the microphone icon during a conversation.

When the button is released after at least a second of recording, the voice message is automatically sent.
The second method, designed for longer recordings, allows users to press and hold the microphone button and then swipe up to lock the mode.
This allows users to continue recording without having to keep their finger on the button.

With the latest update, WhatsApp merges these two approaches into one seamless action.
Now, users can start a voice recording with just a tap, with the lock feature automatically engaging as soon as the microphone button is pressed.
This eliminates the need for the swipe-up action and streamlines the entire process.
This simple yet impactful change is expected to reduce friction when sending voice messages, making the experience smoother and more intuitive for users.
This new update also has the potential to save time and enhance daily communication. While users accustomed to the previous methods of holding the button or swiping up may initially find this change unfamiliar, it is expected to be easy to adapt to after a few uses.
Currently, this new feature is available to select beta testers who have downloaded the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS through the TestFlight app.
It will be rolled out to more users in the upcoming weeks.
