Islamabad, May 5, 2025: An 18-year-old boy lost his life after a cricket match in Uttar Pradesh state of India turned violent over a disagreement on the final ball.
The incident occurred in Bulandshahr district, where two young players reportedly clashed, leading to a fatal beating with a cricket bat.
Local reports say the altercation took place in Risalpur village during a casual game.
A heated exchange between two players, identified as Vinesh Sharma and Shakti, escalated after the last delivery of the match.
Police officials confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed following a complaint by the victim’s uncle.

According to the FIR, Vinesh Sharma allegedly struck Shakti multiple times with a bat during the argument.
The injured teen was rushed to a hospital by his uncle, Mohit Kumar, who said he had been working nearby when he heard about the fight. Doctors pronounced the boy dead on arrival.
Authorities have since increased police presence in the area to prevent any further unrest.
Anupshahar Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ram Karan, stated that search operations are underway and multiple teams have been formed to locate and arrest the accused.
He assured that once arrested, the suspect would be presented in court.

The tragedy has left the local community in shock, highlighting how a recreational game among youth turned into a deadly confrontation.
No official motive beyond the disagreement over the match’s final ball has been shared by investigators so far.

The case has stirred debate on social media, with many users expressing concern over growing aggression in youth sports.
