Islamabad, 7 May, 2025: Despite the closure of all educational institutions across Punjab amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India, the British Council Pakistan has confirmed that its scheduled exams for today will go ahead without disruption.
In an official statement issued earlier, the Council said: “All exams scheduled for today will be conducted as planned. We will keep you informed if there are any changes. If you have any queries, please contact your school. Private candidates can reach out to our Customer Services Centre.”

The announcement comes after Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed the closure of all schools, colleges, and universities across the province on Wednesday, citing public safety concerns due to the recent cross-border military tensions.
CM Maryam Nawaz in her statement emphasized the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to safeguard students, teachers, and academic staff given the current security situation.

“Our people’s safety remains our highest priority,” she stressed, adding that further decisions would be based on updates from law enforcement and security agencies.
The move comes in the wake of military exchanges between India and Pakistan, which began after India carried out missile attacks on several targets within Pakistan and areas of Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
In response, Pakistan shot down multiple Indian aircrafts and carried out strikes on Indian military sites.
