Islamabad, May 8, 2025: In a troubling development along the eastern border, Indian drone wreckage has been recovered in three different districts of Pakistan—Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Chakwal—prompting swift responses from security forces and sparking new concerns over aerial surveillance and cross-border intrusion.
According to official sources, Pakistan’s air defense system successfully intercepted and downed an Indian drone early morning in the Solkhanabad area of Gujranwala.
The wreckage, found shortly after the drone was neutralized, has been collected and transferred to a high-security laboratory for forensic and technical analysis.

In a separate yet equally alarming incident in Gujrat’s Pir Jand area, residents were jolted awake by loud explosions during the night. Upon investigation, police discovered four distinct drone parts scattered across residential areas.
One fragment even penetrated the roof of a house belonging to a man identified as Nawaz.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the discovery has unsettled the local community.
Meanwhile, another unidentified drone crashed in Chakwal’s Dhamman region, specifically near Diwalian.
Local law enforcement responded quickly, securing the wreckage and initiating a formal probe into the cause and potential source of the intrusion.
Security analysts say the timing and spread of these drone incidents raise red flags. “The use of such drones could signal a shift in reconnaissance strategy or a deliberate provocation,” commented retired defense expert Brig. (R) Asad Mehmood. “Pakistan’s prompt response shows readiness, but the pattern must be monitored closely.”
In comparison to previous isolated cases of drone activity, the simultaneous discoveries of Indian drone wreckage across multiple regions underscore a possible escalation in surveillance tactics.

With investigations underway in all three districts, defense officials are working to determine whether the drones were part of a coordinated mission or isolated breaches. No formal statements have yet been issued by Indian authorities.
Adding to the rising concern, a separate drone incident in Dharki, Sindh, turned deadly. Authorities confirmed that the drone crash claimed the life of one individual, marking the first fatality in this series of aerial intrusions.
This tragic event underscores the escalating threat posed by unidentified drone activity within Pakistan’s borders.
