Islamabad, May 8, 2025: In light of the current tension with India, Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) temporarily suspended flight operations at major airports across the country on Thursday including Islamabad, Lahore, Sialkot, and Karachi.

In response to the suspension, incoming flights were rerouted to alternate airports in Multan and Quetta to ensure continuity of aviation services.

The PAA announced that flight operations would remain non-operational until at least 6 pm today.

Airport authorities said the decision was made due to the current national security situation.

Furthermore, the officials have urged passengers to remain in contact with their respective airlines for the latest updates.

Earlier on Wednesday, the PAA confirmed that all airports across the country had resumed normal operations after a brief closure of national airspace.

The temporary airspace closure came in the wake of cross-border tensions after Indian forces launched missile strikes on multiple targets in Pakistan, during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.

In retaliation, Pakistan’s military shoot down five Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets and two combat drones, as well as targeting and destroying an Indian brigade headquarters
