Islamabad, 8 May, 2025:India’s clams, India’s advanced S-400 air defence system installation in Adampur was reportedly struck by missile and drone fire in a major escalation along the India-Pakistan border.
According to Pakistan’s Information Minister, the cross-border strike resulted in the deaths of between 40 and 50 Indian personnel, though this claim has not been independently confirmed.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of 8 May 2025, following India’s earlier statement describing its own military response under Operation SINDOOR as limited and non-provocative.

New Delhi had emphasised that it had refrained from targeting Pakistani military positions and warned that any future attacks on Indian military assets would be met with an appropriate response.
Despite these assertions, Pakistan launched coordinated aerial attacks on several military sites across Northern and Western India, including key locations such as Srinagar, Pathankot, Amritsar, Chandigarh, and Bhuj.

Indian officials stated that the majority of incoming drones and missiles were intercepted by integrated air defence systems.
Debris from intercepted projectiles is currently being collected and analysed from various impact zones as part of the ongoing investigation.
