Islamabad, 8 May, 2025: PM Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting on national security on Thursday, where recent cross-border escalations with India were examined in depth.
Senior military and intelligence officials provided detailed briefings on the situation, including reports of Indian drone activity and Pakistan’s tactical responses.
The session focused on India’s latest aggressive posture, with officials confirming that Pakistan had intercepted and brought down multiple drones allegedly linked to Indian and Israeli-origin technologies.
The leadership reportedly affirmed its commitment to continue retaliatory measures against any form of provocation while avoiding unnecessary escalation.

It was emphasized that Pakistan’s responses would remain firm yet calculated, aimed at safeguarding sovereignty without compromising regional stability.
The forum also discussed casualties resulting from drone incursions and agreed that those affected would be duly honored and their sacrifices acknowledged.
Leadership Expresses Solidarity, Reaffirms National Unity
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif reiterated the government’s full support for the Pakistan Armed Forces and praised their efforts in neutralizing incoming threats.
He stated that the nation stood firmly behind the military during this critical period. Participants at the session were also informed that 25 hostile drones had been neutralized in recent operations, reflecting Pakistan’s enhanced air defense readiness.

The forum conveyed that every Pakistani life lost in these developments would be remembered and accounted for.
Prime Minister Sharif underscored Pakistan’s desire for peace but stressed it must come with dignity and national honor intact.
