Islamabad, 8 May, 2025: Punjab’s Minister for Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, confirmed on Thursday that all educational institutions across the province both public and private will observe a two-day closure due to growing concerns over the region’s law and order situation.
The announcement applies to All Educational Institutions schools, colleges, and universities, which will remain shut on Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10.
 The minister stated that this precautionary measure had been taken in light of recent developments affecting public safety.

Authorities emphasized that the decision was made in coordination with security agencies to ensure the well-being of students, teachers, and academic staff. Educational activities are scheduled to resume on Monday, May 12, assuming conditions remain stable.
The announcement has been widely circulated among academic institutions to ensure compliance across all districts of Punjab.
Academic Operations to Resume Next Week Following Short Break
According to officials, the temporary closure was not prompted by a single incident but stemmed from a broader review of ongoing security dynamics across the province.
Education Minister Hayat reportedly mentioned during an internal briefing that while there was no immediate threat to specific campuses, the overall environment necessitated a cautious approach.
The decision, he said, was taken in the interest of public safety and to avoid unnecessary risk.
Parents and school administrations have been advised to stay updated through official channels, as authorities continue to monitor the situation.
With institutions set to reopen on Monday, academic schedules are expected to proceed without further interruption.
The provincial government has assured that any further changes will be communicated promptly. The Ministry of Education also urged all stakeholders to remain calm and cooperative during this short-term suspension of classes.
