A three-month training camp for Pakistan’s Street Child Football Team is currently underway at the Islamabad Sports Complex as preparations intensify for the Norway Cup 2025.
The camp, which began earlier this month, will also serve as the platform for selecting the final squad that will represent Pakistan in the international youth tournament set to begin on 26 July in Oslo.
Organised under the ‘Midan Project’, the nationwide talent hunt saw participation from over 2,100 young players across 27 districts.
Following rigorous trials, 60 promising players have been shortlisted and are now undergoing training in the federal capital.

The camp provides not only professional football coaching but also full boarding and medical facilities to ensure players’ physical and mental well-being.
The Street Child Football Team has gained recognition over recent years for its impressive performances on the global stage.
Pakistan reached the semi-finals of the Norway Cup in 2024 and clinched the Silver Medal in the 2023 edition, raising hopes for an even better showing this year.

Officials say the current camp is designed to build both fitness and strategy, while also instilling discipline and teamwork among the young athletes.
Coaches and mentors from across the country have joined the initiative to help the players reach their full potential.
The Norway Cup, one of the world’s largest youth football tournaments, will provide these underprivileged yet talented players with a global platform to showcase their skills and bring pride to Pakistan once again.
