Islamabad, 14 May, 2025: Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem is intensifying his preparations for the upcoming Asian Athletics Championship, set to be held in South Korea from May 27 to 31.
This will be his first major appearance since his historic victory at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
Training at Lahore’s Punjab Stadium, Arshad has shown clear focus and determination.
While speaking to the media, he underlined that his main competition remains internal — striving to outdo his own past performances.
According to Arshad, the Korean event marks a fresh chapter after months of dedicated preparation.
He remains confident that delivering his best effort is the key to success, regardless of the opposition. The javelin throw event is scheduled for May 31.

Looking ahead, the 27-year-old athlete has outlined an ambitious roadmap.
He aims to secure gold medals in international events where he has yet to reach the top podium, including the World Championship, Asian Championship, Asian Games, and Diamond League events.
Arshad also confirmed his goal to participate in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, gradually building momentum through each competition.
His coach, Salman Iqbal Butt, expressed satisfaction with Arshad’s current training phase, stating that the last few months have produced promising results.

He added that the team approaches every event with the same seriousness, believing that pressure can bring out the best performances.
Arshad is expected to compete in two to three more international competitions ahead of the World Championship in September to maintain form.
Widely celebrated as Pakistan’s first Olympic gold medallist in athletics, Arshad holds a national record of 92.97 metres.
Over his career, he has claimed four golds, one silver, and four bronze medals across various international competitions.
