Islamabad, 16, May, 2025:  Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has declared in the National Assembly that the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway (M-6) is vital for the economic lifeline of Pakistan.

He assured this project has been prioritized, and will be completed at all costs whether through foreign financing or allocations in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

“The federal budget is being fi­­nalised, and we will ensure the planning ministry is fully informed of the motorway’s importance so that appropriate budgetary provisions are made,” he said.

Responding to Calling Attention Notice regarding the non-inclusion of the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway project in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2024–25, the Finance Minister reaffirmed that the project will be included in the PSDP for the upcoming fiscal year.

“The Ministry of Communications has proposed an allocation of Rs10 billion for the M6 in the next development programme, and the amount may be revised as planning progresses,” he said.

He added that the government aims to complete the full stretch from Sukkur to Karachi, recognizing its strategic importance for national trade and connectivity.
