Islamabad, 16 May, 2025: Nation observes Youm-e-Tashakur across Pakistan today to honor the Armed Forces and the people of Pakistan for their remarkable victory in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq.

In a symbolic tribute a 31-gun salute was fired in the federal capital, Islamabad while, 21-gun salutes were also performed in the provincial capital.  

A 21-gun salute was also performed in Lahore, Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed Stadium in Peshawar, and Gilgit.

The day started after Fajr prayers in mosques, where special prayers were made for Pakistan’s stability, progress, and prosperity, as well as for the occupied Kashmir throughout the nation.

Change of guard ceremonies was held at the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

Flag hoisting ceremonies also be held in both federal and provincial capitals.

Last week, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq will be observed annually on May 10 to celebrate the remarkable success of Operation Bunyan um Marsoos, in which Pakistan retaliated against India brutal aggression.

Additionally, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) celebrated the nation’s “historic achievement” in Operation Bunyan um Marsoos through special inflight announcements.

The main ceremony of Youm-e-Tashakur is planned to be held tonight at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the ceremony as the chief guest.

The Chief of Army Staff and the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee will also be present at the event.
