Through this app, schoolteachers will be able to register their attendance using their mobile phones, but only while physically present within school boundaries, he added.
Additionally, as part of this digital monitoring effort, teachers will now need to upload photos of the students present in their classes.
The system will also feature facial recognition technology, which will help automatically count and log student attendance, the minister explained.

In a related development, it was previously reported that matriculation and intermediate certificate verification in Sindh is also moving to an online platform, as per a circular issued by the Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC).
Under the updated system, sealed envelopes containing certificates will no longer be accepted for verification. Instead, all certificate authentication will be carried out digitally.
The IBCC has instructed that every educational board in Sindh must be integrated with its online portal to allow smooth and efficient processing of verification requests.
