Islamabad, 16 May, 2025: Cash Limit for Hajj Pilgrims has been reinforced this year as Saudi authorities intensify customs regulations for the annual pilgrimage season.
With millions of Muslims arriving for Hajj 2025, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has reminded all incoming and outgoing travelers to declare any cash or assets exceeding SR 60,000 (approximately $16,000).
The updated measure applies not only to physical currency but also to valuable items such as gold, precious stones, and other high-value materials.
The authorities noted that the declaration requirement is part of a broader initiative to ensure compliance with the Kingdom’s financial and legal protocols.

Officials explained that such steps are vital for maintaining transparency, financial accountability, and security during one of the world’s largest gatherings.
In an official update, the Ministry highlighted that failing to report such valuables could result in penalties, confiscation, or travel disruption.
The regulation is in line with global financial control practices and is intended to protect both travelers and national interests.
According to ministry officials, this initiative is also aimed at educating pilgrims about their responsibilities and ensuring they are not caught unaware.
“This policy enhances awareness and safeguards pilgrims from unintentional violations,” officials stated, emphasizing that the Cash Limit for Hajj Pilgrims should be clearly understood before traveling.
Furthermore, customs teams at Saudi airports and entry points have been instructed to increase inspection efforts and assist travelers in the declaration process.

Digital declaration forms and support counters have been made available to ease the process for non-Arabic speakers.
Observers noted that this step reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to managing the logistical and regulatory challenges of hosting millions of international visitors.
Pilgrims planning their journey are being urged to familiarize themselves with the Cash Limit for Hajj Pilgrims in advance to avoid inconvenience and ensure a smooth, legally compliant pilgrimage.
