Islamabad, May 18, 2025: India has suffered a major blow in its trade dealings after the United States has refused to accept multiple shipments of Indian mangoes.
According to reports, 15 consignments of mangoes exported from India arrived in the U.S., but due to incomplete documentation, were turned away at airports in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Atlanta.

The shipments had undergone a radiation treatment in Mumbai on the 8th and 9th of May, a requirement for export. Despite this, American authorities have refused the shipments clearance.
Exporters were then given two choices: either to destroy the fruit or re-export it back to India. Faced with this dilemma, the exporters opted to discard the mangoes.
The estimated financial loss resulting from the rejected shipments is said to be around $500,000.
