Islamabad, May 19, 2025: The Saudi Riyal to Pakistani Rupee (SAR to PKR) exchange rate remained stable in the open market, holding firm at Rs75.09.
According to currency dealers, the selling rate also stayed steady at Rs75.64, showing no signs of fluctuation as the week began.
This consistency in the SAR to PKR rate today reflects a period of stability in currency trading, a welcome sign for traders and overseas Pakistanis alike.
The Saudi Riyal (SAR), the official currency of Saudi Arabia, continues to be a critical reference point for Pakistani expatriates living in the Kingdom and those involved in foreign currency dealings.
Growing Economic and Diplomatic Ties
The steady exchange rate comes amid deepening ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
In a high-level meeting held in Jeddah, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reaffirming both nations’ commitment to mutual cooperation across sectors including defense, energy, and economic development.
Top Pakistani officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, were present during the strategic discussions, signaling the importance of Saudi Arabia as a key partner in Pakistan’s regional diplomacy and economic vision.
Remittances Surge from Saudi Arabia
Further highlighting the robust relationship, Saudi Arabia remained the top contributor to remittances received by Pakistan in February 2025.
Pakistani expatriates residing in the Kingdom sent $744.4 million, marking a 2.21% monthly increase and a massive 37.88% year-on-year surge.
This strong inflow of remittances plays a vital role in stabilizing Pakistan’s foreign reserves and supporting the domestic economy.
