Islamabad, May 20, 2025: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has firmly dismissed India’s assertion that Pakistan Shaheen missile was used during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, labeling the accusation as “baseless and reckless.”
The claim originated from a video posted by the official Indian Army account on X (formerly known as Twitter), which allegedly showed a Shaheen missile being launched by Pakistan amid heightened cross-border tensions.
Following India’s air strikes on Pakistani airbases on May 10, Pakistan initiated Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, during which it deployed Al-Fatah tactical missiles and struck multiple Indian military facilities and airbases reportedly involved in the offensive.

In an official statement released Monday, the Foreign Office called the video “completely unverified” and noted that the Indian Army deleted the footage shortly after uploading it.
“By the time the misleading video was removed, sections of the Indian media had already amplified the false narrative without verification,” the Foreign Office added.
The statement also rebuked the Indian military for maintaining silence following the deletion of the video, providing “neither a clarification nor a formal retraction.”
Foreign affairs experts in Islamabad argue that the disinformation effort appears aimed at deflecting attention from India’s reported setbacks during Operation Sindoor, in which Pakistan allegedly exhibited superior conventional warfare capabilities.

“These fabricated stories also align with New Delhi’s ongoing attempts to construct a misleading narrative about the ceasefire and level baseless accusations of so-called ‘nuclear blackmail’ by Pakistan,” spokesperson added.
The Foreign Office referred to a detailed ISPR press release dated 12 May 2025, which listed the weaponry used in the operation.
According to the document, Pakistan deployed Fatah-series missiles (F1 and F2), long-range loitering drones, precision-guided munitions, and advanced artillery systems but made no use of any Shaheen missile.
“Disseminating unverified and inflammatory content not only undermines regional stability but also reflects poorly on the professionalism of official institutions,” the statement concluded.
