Islamabad, May 20, 2025: Mobile phone imports in Pakistan decreased by 14.21 percent during the first ten months of the ongoing fiscal year (July–April 2024–25), as per the latest figures issued by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

Between July and April, the country imported mobile phones valued at $1.254 billion, a drop from $1.462 billion during the same span last year.

On a year-on-year basis, the decline was even sharper in April 2025, as imports of mobile phones fell by 22.47 percent, reaching $125.119 million, down from $161.384 million in April 2024.

Compared to March 2025, mobile phone imports lowered by 3.96 percent, when the figure stood at $130.274 million.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s overall trade performance showed a positive trend. Exports for the July 2024 to April 2025 period recorded an increase of 6.40 percent, climbing to $26.896 billion, compared to $25.278 billion during the same period in FY24.

At the same time, total imports rose by 7.55 percent, reaching $48.292 billion, up from $44.9 billion last year.

The figures suggest growing demand for a wider collection of products across various sectors of the economy.
