Islamabad, 23 May 2025: Gold Prices in Pakistan saw a steep jump on Friday, reflecting broader global market trends and investor movement towards safe-haven assets.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association, the cost of 24-karat gold increased by Rs. 3,500 per tola, reaching Rs. 351,000, compared to Rs. 347,500 recorded during the previous session. This marks a continuation of the week’s upward trajectory, bringing the total rise so far to Rs. 12,500 per tola.
Earlier in the week, prices climbed by Rs. 10,900 over the first three trading days. Despite a brief decline of Rs. 1,900 on Thursday, Friday’s rally more than compensated for the dip, underlining the volatility in precious metal markets.

In tandem, the rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold rose by Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 300,925. Meanwhile, the value of 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose by Rs. 2,750, moving from Rs. 273,107 to Rs. 275,857, highlighting the broader impact across purity levels.
Gold Prices in Pakistan have mirrored gains in the global bullion market. International gold rates surged by $35, with the price per ounce rising to $3,326 from the earlier $3,291.
This global upward trend has contributed to the domestic rally, further bolstered by local demand and currency shifts.

Silver also followed suit, registering moderate gains. One tola of silver rose by Rs. 38 to settle at Rs. 3,466, while the price for 10 grams climbed by Rs. 33 to Rs. 2,971. On the global stage, silver rose by $0.38, now priced at $32.08 per ounce.
Experts suggest the sustained rise in Gold Prices in Pakistan may be driven by increasing economic uncertainty, inflationary pressures, and shifting investor sentiment, prompting many to turn to gold as a hedge.
With such sharp increases this week, market watchers remain focused on whether this trend will continue or cool off in the coming days.
