Islamabad, 27 May 2025: Career Opportunities for Pakistani youth took a major leap forward this week as the China Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan (CCCPK) and the National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy, launched Job Fair 2025 at the Pak-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad.

The fair, organized under the banner “Bridging Skills; Building Futures,” brought together 20 leading Chinese enterprises operating in Pakistan, offering more than 500 job vacancies for graduates with technical and vocational qualifications.

The event was seen as a reflection of deepening economic ties between China and Pakistan, with both sides committed to preparing youth for the workforce of the future.

Leaders Highlight Progress in Skill Development and Industry Cooperation

The gathering was attended by high-level dignitaries, including Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong and Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

In opening remarks, government and business leaders commended the fair as a step toward inclusive growth and employment.

Minister of State Wajiha Qamar pointed out that the initiative was not merely a hiring event but a bold expression of Pakistan’s emerging talent and potential.

She highlighted NAVTTC’s role in training boys, girls, madrassa students, and differently abled individuals in modern fields such as AI, e-learning, and digital technologies.

Chinese Minister Counselor Yang Guangyuan said both nations were now entering a new phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), with a greater focus on manufacturing and job creation.

He stated that most Chinese firms were looking to expand their footprint in Pakistan, reflecting growing confidence in local skills. He also stressed that Pakistani youth remained the country’s most valuable asset.

Career Opportunities for Pakistani professionals were further emphasized by CCCPK Chairman Wang Huihua, who noted that over 30,000 Pakistani citizens were already employed by Chinese member companies under the CPEC framework.

He added that job creation was as vital as infrastructure in this partnership. Gulmina Bilal, Chairperson of NAVTTC, praised the inclusive training initiatives that reach every segment of society and reiterated her hope that similar job fairs would be held in other cities soon.

Supported by organizations such as Tang International Education, ITMC Technology Co. Ltd., and City & Guilds, the fair offered on-the-spot interviews, career counseling, and networking sessions.

A VIP tour allowed guests to interact with job seekers and recruiters, appreciating the skill level of the candidates and the active role companies are playing in local hiring.

The event concluded with strong participation from youth, government leaders, and industry representatives marking a significant step forward in matching talent with opportunity and underlining that Career Opportunities for Pakistani citizens will continue to grow with sustained international collaboration.
