Islamabad, 28 May 2025:  Advance Fees Banned this was the firm message issued by the Rawalpindi District Education Authority (DEA) as it instructed both public and private educational institutions to strictly adhere to the official summer holiday schedule announced by the Punjab government.

The vacation period will run from May 28 to August 14, and any deviation from these orders may result in disciplinary consequences.

An official notice, signed by DEA Chief Executive Officer Amanullah, emphasized that no school is authorized to collect advance tuition for the entire summer.

The statement underscored that all private institutions must follow the Punjab School Education Department’s directive, which limits fee collection to just one month at a time.

Advance Fees Banned Directive to Ease Parental Burden

The directive further clarified that schools must suspend all educational activities during the holiday window.

This includes halting academic classes, summer camps, and even examinations. In line with this, teaching faculty are not required to report to work, while only essential administrative personnel may continue attending for operational tasks.

One exception has been made for Youm-i-Takbeer, for which schools are permitted to assemble students briefly.

Apart from this, institutions are strictly prohibited from engaging students or staff in any academic commitments during the break.

The order, repeating the message ‘Advance Fees Banned’, serves to relieve financial pressure on parents while ensuring children are not exposed to the region’s harsh summer temperatures. Authorities highlighted student health and well-being as key reasons behind the enforcement of these guidelines.

Enforcement and Parental Support

In addition to warning schools, the DEA encouraged parents to come forward with complaints if any school attempts to collect full-term fees or violates the summer break restrictions.

Non-compliance, officials warned, would be considered a breach of government policy and dealt with under administrative law.

The move has been widely supported by families, many of whom had raised concerns about fee demands and unofficial summer classes in previous years.
