Islamabad, 30 May 2025: Bill Against Child Marriages has been hailed as a significant breakthrough in Pakistan’s journey to protect children’s rights.

Vice President of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Senator Sherry Rehman, lauded President Asif Ali Zardari for formally enacting the Child Marriage Restraint Bill, describing the move as a defining moment in the country’s legislative landscape.

Senator Rehman said the passage of the Bill Against Child Marriages was achieved despite opposition from various quarters, crediting the legislation as a symbol of the nation’s shift toward safeguarding the health, education, and future of young girls.
