Islamabad, 31 May 2025: Summer Break Dates for educational institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been officially outlined, as the provincial government moved to protect students and staff from extreme weather.
As per a notification released by the Higher Education, Archives and Libraries Department, academic institutions located in warmer regions will observe holidays from June 1 to August 15, while those situated in colder zones will have a shorter recess from July 1 to July 31. The schedule covers both public and private sector colleges and universities.
The announcement clarified that while regular academic sessions will be suspended, classes and examinations under BS (4-year) and associate degree programs will proceed as previously planned in line with the academic calendar.

Authorities explained that the Summer Break Dates were determined based on regional weather conditions, aiming to prioritise the health and comfort of learners and educational staff as temperatures continue to climb.
The directive has been sent to all major stakeholders including the Governor’s Secretariat, the Chief Minister’s Office, relevant departmental heads, university vice-chancellors, and the Higher Education Regulatory Authority, ensuring a province-wide implementation.
Officials emphasised that these Summer Break Dates were part of broader seasonal planning, especially as several districts have reported unusually high temperatures.
