LAHORE, June 1, 2025: “Just like winning the Asian Athletic Championship, I will also try to win the World Athletic Championship”, National hero Arshad Nadeem said upon his arrival at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.

“A gold medal is incomparable, I can’t thank Allah enough,” Arshad Nadeem said, adding, “I always competed with myself, Allah has given me great honor.”
After almost 50 years, an Asian Athletic gold medal has been won by a Pakistani athlete. When Arshad Nadeem got off the plane, representatives from the Punjab government, sports officials, and LESCO received him. He said, “I am thankful to the entire nation for always giving me regard.”
He also shared his love for Pakistan, particularly in the context of Pakistan India conflict, and beating an Indian athlete to the gold medal. He said, “I am always with the Pakistan Army. Long live Pakistan.”
He said that he will make plans for the youth. He said that such events should be held in Pakistan and competitions should be held in athletics.
“The goal is the World Athletics Championship,” he said, adding that he is working hard for this goal. “It is very hot in Pakistan, I will go to London to prepare,” Arshad Nadeem said.

Arshad Nadeem’s father was also present at the airport to receive him. “My son has brought pride to the country before, and today he has done it once again,” he said.
He also thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, saying that the government has provided the best facilities to Arshad Nadeem.
