RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Railways has successfully recovered illegally encroached Railway land located on Taxila-Havelian section, between Haripur and Sarai Saleh stations. The reclaimed land is reportedly worth millions of rupees.

Various types of concrete structures were constructed on the recovered land, including houses, shops and walls. Property and Land Branch Rawalpindi and Assistant Inspector of Works/Taxila supervised the operation, with the assistance of Railway Police.
The operation was carried out on the special instructions of Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi. The Rawalpindi Division of the Railways department successfully completed the effective anti-encroachment operation today.

According to a statement issued by Pakistan Railways, all legal requirements were fulfilled before the operation and the local administration was also taken into confidence. The aim of this operation was to secure the valuable land of Railways and prevent any kind of encroachment in the future.
