Islamabad, June 3, 2025: Jack Draper, one of Britain’s rising tennis stars, was knocked out of the French Open in the fourth round after a tough match against Alexander Bublik.
Draper had been in fine form throughout the tournament, and many had expected him to reach final stages, with a possible quarter-final clash against top seed Jannik Sinner. But Bublik outplayed expectations with a solid performance, taking the match 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.
Alexander Bublik made excellent use of drop shots and maintained control throughout the key points.
The match reached a gripping climax. Bublik had one opportunity to seal the win but missed it initially. Meanwhile, Draper had five chances to break Bublik’s serve in the final set, but the Kazakh player saved every single one and clinched victory.

The defeat comes as a major letdown for Draper, especially since it marks his most unexpected loss as he has not lost to a lower-ranked player since he was defeated in the first round of the French Open last year.
