ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting on June 5, ahead of the presentation of Annual Budget FY26 on June 10, 2025.

PM Sharif will chair the NEC meeting, which is expected to approve the budget targets. The council meeting will also review the National Development Plan (ND), Public Sector Development Program (PSDP), and other macroeconomic targets.

The agenda of the meeting also has discussions on economic growth rate, agriculture, industry, and services sector targets for the upcoming fiscal year. Representatives of the federal government, as well as provincial governments will attend the meeting.

BUDGET TO BE PRESENTED ON JUNE 10

President Asif Ali Zardari has also issued summons for both upper and lower houses of the parliament on June 10. The National Assembly and the Senate will meet next Tuesday to unveil the annual budget.

The National Assembly session has been called 5:00 PM, while the Senate session will begin at 6:00 PM. Copies of the federal budget will be tabled in both sessions.
