Islamabad, 4 June 2025: Saudi Arabia Bans Political Slogans that is the clear message from the Kingdom’s Ministry of Interior ahead of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, as authorities tighten regulations to preserve the sanctity and order of the religious gathering.
In a formal advisory issued this week, the ministry urged all visiting pilgrims to adhere strictly to the spiritual focus of the pilgrimage and refrain from engaging in activities that may introduce political, sectarian, or ideological messaging.
This includes the display of flags, chanting slogans, organizing protests, or any form of public demonstration actions which are strictly prohibited within the holy precincts.
The Saudi Interior Ministry reiterated that all pilgrims are regarded as the “guests of Allah,” and their well-being remains a national priority.

The advisory called on attendees to observe full compliance with local regulations, warning that any behavior deemed provocative or disruptive could result in legal consequences.
The statement aligns with a longstanding policy aimed at ensuring the pilgrimage remains a space for spiritual reflection, untainted by external conflicts or political narratives.

Alongside the political advisory, the Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, issued a separate appeal urging pilgrims to exercise caution as temperatures in Mecca and surrounding areas soar. Pilgrims have been advised to avoid direct sunlight, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when the heat is most intense.
Dr. Al-Rabiah also encouraged visitors to remain within shaded areas or designated tents during peak hours and limit physical exertion unless absolutely necessary.
These precautions aim to prevent heatstroke, dehydration, and other health risks associated with high temperatures, which are expected to persist throughout the pilgrimage period.
Authorities have also reminded pilgrims that photography within the holy sites particularly in sensitive areas is strongly discouraged. Officials noted that taking pictures can inadvertently cause crowd disturbances or compromise privacy and religious etiquette.
