Islamabad, 6 June 2025: PTA Cracks Down on unlawful mobile device manipulation as authorities intensify efforts to curb the growing threat of IMEI tampering and phone cloning in Pakistan.

In a joint operation led by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s Zonal Office in Faisalabad, in collaboration with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), a targeted raid was carried out at a mobile retail outlet within the bustling D-Ground Dragon Mall market

During the operation, officials seized two mobile phones suspected to have been illegally cloned. The shopkeeper, who was reportedly involved in the unauthorized trade of counterfeit devices, was apprehended on the spot.

Authorities confirmed that a comprehensive investigation has been launched to trace any further illicit stock connected to the case.
