Islamabad, June 7, 2025: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday has released a festive video on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, showing national cricketers sending out warm wishes to fans at home and abroad. Among those featured were Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Rizwan, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Haris, Shaheen Afridi, Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, and Aamer Jamal, each appearing briefly greeting Eid to the nation.
Yet, despite the cheerful line-up, fans quickly noticed the absence of one of the country’s biggest cricket star Babar Azam. The former captain was missing from the video entirely, leaving fans puzzled and disappointed. For many, watching the clip was mainly to hear from Babar, and his unexplained absence sparked instant online reactions.

Earlier this month, Babar was left out of the recent T20 series against Bangladesh. This makes his absence all the more surprising, especially since players like Rizwan and Shaheen who were also not part of that series did appear in the video. The move has raised questions about PCB’s selection and PR.

Until a clear explanation is provided, fans will continue to speculate the worse.
