Islamabad, June 7, 2025: The National Highways & Motorway Police has launched a strict crackdown against those charging extra fares and overloading vehicles during the Eid holidays. Efforts are ongoing nationwide to protect passengers and improve road safety.
Complaints about overcharging in passenger vehicles have been addressed, and the police have returned more than 5.67 million rupees to passengers in various cities. Additionally, fines totaling over 28.09 million rupees have been imposed on those caught overloading.
Strict checking of passenger vehicles is being carried out on motorways and highways. Alongside this, road safety briefings continue to be held to raise awareness among drivers.

Drivers traveling on motorways are urged to wear seat belts, observe speed limits, avoid driving when tired, and follow all traffic rules carefully.
