Islamabad, June 12, 2025: Peter Sohn, best known for directing the unexpected hit Elemental, has been tapped to lead the next chapter, the Incredibles 3. While his earlier outing The Good Dinosaur didn’t quite strike box office gold, Sohn’s recent success has reignited confidence in his directorial vision.
Pixar, once celebrated for crafting original, self-contained tales with star-studded casts, has shifted its focus toward reimagining and expanding its iconic franchises. From Toy Story to Cars, Monsters Inc. to Inside Out, the animation powerhouse is now deeply invested in breathing new life into its beloved stories. Now, Coco is also gearing up to join this growing list, with a sequel scheduled to arrive in 2029.
No Capes, But Plenty of Action
The Incredibles series centers on Bob and Helen Parr—former superheroes trying to lead normal lives until a villainous admirer from the past forces them back into action. Their children—Violet, Dash, and the unpredictable Jack-Jack—soon reveal extraordinary abilities of their own, making crime-fighting a full-family affair.
In the sequel, The Incredibles 2, the family faced off against a tech-savvy antagonist whose goal was mass hypnosis. The storyline elevated the stakes, keeping the same emotional depth while embracing a modern threat.

Details around the third installment remain under wraps. However, it’s confirmed that Brad Bird—the mind behind the previous two films—is currently developing the screenplay. Bird, known for his meticulous storytelling, has worked closely with Sohn for years. In fact, every major animated feature Bird has crafted includes Sohn’s creative input. It was Bird himself who handpicked Sohn to lead this third adventure, signaling trust in his longtime collaborator.
