Islamabad, 12 June 2025: Rain Forecast, Meteorological authorities have projected a shift in the weather pattern over Pakistan, with moisture-laden winds entering northern regions and a fresh westerly system expected to reach the upper areas by June 13.

According to updates from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, several parts of the country are likely to witness unstable weather over the coming days due to this dual weather influence.

Northern Areas to Experience Showers and Hail

Rain Forecast suggests that districts across the north, including Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Galliyat, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan, and Abbottabad, may experience thunderstorms, dust storms, and isolated hail between June 13 and 16, though with breaks between episodes.

Stormy Conditions Expected in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The weather system is also forecast to trigger rain and dust storms, accompanied by occasional hailstorms, in central and northern Punjab and parts of KP. Affected areas include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat, Bannu, Karak, D.I. Khan, Waziristan, as well as Zhob, Barkhan, and Musakhel in Balochistan.

This unsteady weather pattern is projected to occur specifically on June 13 and 16, with short intervals in between.

Southern Punjab and Upper Sindh Also on Alert

The Rain Forecast further indicates that similar conditions are likely across all districts of southern Punjab and upper Sindh, raising concerns for vulnerable regions with existing infrastructure challenges.

Possible Hazards and Safety Advice

Authorities have warned that gusty winds, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms could potentially damage exposed installations such as electric poles, solar panels, trees, and vehicles, especially in Islamabad and adjacent areas.
