Islamabad, 14 June 2025: Karachi Quake, Mild seismic activity was recorded early Saturday morning near the outskirts of Karachi, with authorities confirming a shallow tremor centered north of Malir.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the tremor struck at precisely 09:53 AM PST on June 14, 2025.
Initial reports by the PMD’s seismic monitoring unit in Islamabad noted that the earthquake measured 3.2 on the Richter scale, with a focal depth of 35 kilometers beneath the surface.
The epicenter was located approximately 12 kilometers north of Malir, placing it within Karachi’s less densely populated northern fringes.

The Karachi Quake did not cause any immediate injuries or structural damage, but it was mildly felt in various parts of the city, especially in high-rise buildings and coastal zones. Emergency response teams were placed on standby as a precaution, though no alerts were officially issued.
Local residents in areas close to the epicenter reported brief but noticeable ground vibrations. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and follow safety guidelines in the event of aftershocks, although none have been recorded so far.
