LAHORE – June 14, 2025: On the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Lahore’s entry and exit points are set to undergo major infrastructure upgrades aimed at enhancing security, aesthetics, and traffic management. The Lahore Police, in coordination with the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), has formed joint teams to execute this initiative.

In the first phase of the project, six major entry and exit points have been selected for revamping. These include Babu Sabu, Saggian, and Ravi Bridge, among others. These locations will be remodeled following the example of Thokar Niaz Baig, which was previously upgraded to include improved road structures, modern checkpoints, and enhanced landscaping.

According to official sources, the upgrades will include aesthetic enhancements, organized traffic flow systems, and state-of-the-art police checkpoints. In addition, comfortable, air-conditioned rooms will be constructed at each checkpoint to improve the working conditions for police officers stationed at these high-traffic points.

Special provisions will also be introduced for the screening of women at checkpoints. Dedicated female staff and private screening spaces will be arranged to ensure dignity and privacy, in line with the Chief Minister’s directions.

The initiative aims to not only boost the city’s visual appeal but also strengthen its security framework at key entry points, ensuring a safer and more efficient experience for all commuters entering or leaving Lahore.
