Islamabad, 16 June 2025: Karachi weather may turn slightly dramatic today as the city braces for isolated showers coupled with thunder and lightning, according to the latest update from the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

Following sporadic pre-monsoon drizzle and light rain across parts of the city yesterday, forecasters now anticipate a mix of warmth, humidity, and cloud cover over the next 24 hours. Karachi weather is expected to remain partly cloudy, with temperatures hovering around seasonal highs.

As per Met officials, sea breezes are forecast to resume, likely reaching speeds between 10 to 20 kilometers per hour. These winds are expected to offer mild relief from the persistent heat, though humidity is forecast to remain significantly high between 50% and 80%.

Due to this elevated humidity, residents are likely to feel temperatures 6°C to 9°C higher than the actual readings. Today’s maximum temperature is expected to range between 37°C and 39°C, while the minimum this morning was recorded at 30°C. Yesterday, the city also reached a high of 37°C, reinforcing the ongoing spell of warm and muggy conditions.

Despite the oppressive heat, scattered rainfall may offer temporary respite. However, the Meteorological Department warns that the combination of heat and humidity may continue to affect outdoor comfort and air quality in the metropolis.

As the karachi weather transitions deeper into the pre-monsoon phase, all eyes remain on the skies with residents hoping for cooling showers, even as the mercury continues to climb.
