Islamabad, June 16, 2025: Saudi Arabia General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) has confirmed the conditions for canceling exit and re-entry visas, confirming that fees paid for these visas remain non-refundable even if the visa is later canceled.
This notice comes just as many expatriates are preparing for summer travel and seeking clarity on the visa process. The announcement was triggered by a resident’s query asking if a refund would be possible after a visa cancellation.
According to Jawazat:
- Single-entry visas cost 200 SAR (valid up to two months), with an additional 100 SAR per extra month within the iqama period.
- Multiple-entry visas are 500 SAR for up to three months, plus 200 SAR per added month.
- Extensions for those outside Saudi Arabia are double the rate: 200 SAR per month for single-entry and 400 SAR for multiple-entry.

All visa cancellations and extensions must be processed through the Absher platform. To cancel, users must log into Absher, navigate to Services for Sponsors, select the concerned individual, and confirm the cancellation. Once canceled, the paid fees cannot be reclaimed.

Expats outside Saudi Arabia—especially domestic workers and dependents—can extend their exit and re-entry visas online via Worker Services or Family Member Services on Absher. Similarly, employers can use Absher Business, selecting My Business Services and then Visas, to handle extensions for workers abroad.
