Islamabad, June 17, 2025: A viral video claiming that that Saudi Arabia’s Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal, famously “Sleeping Prince of Saudi Arabia” has woken up after spending two decades in a coma.
However, the claim is not true. The Saudi royal in question, who turned 36 on April 18, 2025, is indeed still in a coma.
What Does the Viral Video Claim?
The viral video claimed that the Saudi royal finally awoke after 20 years and was welcomed by relatives at the hospital.
Accompanied by a video, a social media user wrote: “Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal, who had a hard accident 20 years ago and has been in a coma, has finally regained His life, all thanks to the father who refused to give up on him.”

The Truth
The viral video is in fact of billionaire Yazeed Mohamed Al-Rajhi, seen meeting people after recovering from an accident.
According to a post shared on Instagram by Yazeed Racing, the official Baja rally team representing Al-Rajhi, the incident occurred on April 12, when he and his navigator Timo Gottschalk were involved in a crash during the final leg of Baja Jordan.
“They were transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure. Both are fully conscious and in stable condition and are currently undergoing the necessary medical examinations to ensure their well-being,” the statement read.

A portion of Al-Rajhi’s recovery footage from the hospital was misrepresented and shared alongside an image of Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal, sparking misleading narratives.
In reality, the two men are entirely different. Al-Rajhi has now healed and been released from medical care, while there have been no credible updates regarding the Saudi Prince waking from his coma.
