Islamabad, June 17, 2025: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration has opted to raise traffic fines in the upcoming 2025-26 fiscal plan.
As outlined in the finance bill, a distinct penalty bracket has been created for three-wheeler vehicles such as rickshaws, including loading rickshaws, proposing an increase in fines from Rs. 200 to Rs. 10,000.
These vehicles will be fined Rs. 5,000 for breaching route permit rules, with recommendations to double the penalty in case of repeat infractions.
Moreover, the finance bill suggests traffic fines between Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 10,000 for individuals found operating vehicles with forged licenses. There are also suggested hikes in penalties for minors behind the wheel.
