Islamabad, June 18, 2025: in a shocking development, Careem has confirmed it will end its ride-hailing services in Pakistan starting July 18, 2025, concluding its longstanding operation in one of its most significant markets.
The news was revealed by Careem to its customers via app messages and emails. In a formal message to customers, the company thanked users for their continued loyalty over the years and recognized the challenge of reaching this conclusion.
Careem mentioned that individuals with remaining funds in their digital wallets would soon receive directions on how to retrieve their money. “If you have a remaining balance in your Careem Wallet, we’ll be in touch soon with clear instructions on how to reclaim it. Careem Care will remain available until 18th September 2025, to help you with any pending issues or questions you may have,” the statement noted.

Customer assistance under the “Careem Care” service will remain functional until September 18, 2025, to address any outstanding matters.

Careem originally began its ride-hailing operations in Pakistan back in 2016, launching initially in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Its entry coincided with the nationwide expansion of 3G and 4G mobile internet services.
