Islamabad, June 20, 2025: In PSG Vs Botafogo, Brazilian champions Botafogo stunned everyone by pulling off a 1-0 victory over European giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Thursday night, with Igor Jesus delivering a sensational first-half goal.
With this result, Botafogo tops the group boasting two wins from two outings, while PSG tasted their first defeat in any contest since May 3. The setback also ended PSG’s streak of three straight shutouts and a dominant 12-0 scoring run from previous matches, including their recent 4-0 thrashing of Atletico Madrid.

The breakthrough came in the 36th minute when Jesus expertly controlled a long pass from Jefferson Savarino, drive past two PSG defenders, and made a shot beyond goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. This marked PSG first goal conceded since May 17. Jesus celebrated by jumping into the stands, joining the overjoyed Botafogo fans who had traveled to the U.S. in large numbers.

PSG maintained most of the ball possession in PSG Vs Botafogo match but lacked sharpness in attack. The French side registered 16 shots but only two hit the target, whereas Botafogo’s four efforts all tested goal-keeper Donnarumma.
