Islamabad, June 20, 2025: Punjab is expected to witness pre-monsoon showers beginning today, according to a representative of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall and strong winds across various parts of the country between June 20 and 23. Officials anticipate this year’s monsoon to bring around 25% more rainfall then the usual average nationwide, with notable shift in weather patterns across several areas.
Several districts in Punjab are forecast to recieve considerably higher rainfall than normal. Cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Gujrat may see rainfall levels ranging from 40% to 60% above the seasonal average.
Experts caution that certain areas might face intense rain along with strong winds, which may results in water logging and urban flooding, especially in low-lying zones.
