Islamabad, June 20, 2025: In a major step towards healthcare digitization, the Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) has officially launched a fully online registration and licensing system for private clinics and hospitals across Sindh. This initiative aims to streamline and simplify the documentation process for healthcare providers while ensuring strict compliance and transparency.
The new digital platform has been introduced under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SHCC and the Sindh Business One Stop Shop (SBOSS). The project is part of the World Bank-supported Competitive & Livable City of Karachi (CLICK) program, focused on improving service delivery in the province.
Speaking at the launch, SHCC Chairman Dr Khalid Hussain Sheikh highlighted the importance of transitioning from outdated manual processes to efficient digital workflows. “With full support from the CLICK Project Director, SHCC is now moving its registration and licensing system entirely online,” he stated.
SHCC CEO Dr Ahsan Qavi Siddiqui confirmed that the Board of Commissioners has entrusted the organization with the task of automating the entire registration system for both doctors and healthcare institutions. He further revealed that a broader Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is already 80% completed, laying the foundation for long-term digital transformation.
Adding to the discussion, Dr Mirza Ali Azhar, Board Commissioner of SHCC, stated, “Our objective is not just to modernize, but also to ensure that both healthcare providers and patients benefit from a more accessible and accountable system.”
This digital shift is expected to reduce bureaucratic delays, enhance regulatory oversight, and improve service delivery across private healthcare facilities in Sindh.
