Islamabad, June 20, 2025: Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, the Government of Pakistan has issued a strict travel advisory, urging its citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria. The advisory, released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasizes the growing risks to safety and security in the region due to the ongoing military conflict.

According to the statement, all Pakistani nationals currently residing in the mentioned countries are advised to exercise extreme caution, limit their movements, and refrain from unnecessary travel within those territories. Citizens are also instructed to remain in close contact with the nearest Pakistani embassies for emergency support and real-time updates.

The advisory comes at a time of heightened regional volatility. Over the past week, Israel and Iran have engaged in a series of cross-border airstrikes and missile attacks, drawing global concern. Israeli officials claim their operations are aimed at halting Iran’s nuclear development—a claim Tehran denies, maintaining its program is for peaceful purposes.

Humanitarian reports indicate that Israeli air raids have killed over 600 people in Iran, including key military leaders and nuclear experts. In retaliation, Iran has launched missile and drone attacks on Israeli cities, resulting in civilian casualties. At least two dozen Israeli civilians have reportedly died in these attacks.

The Pakistan Foreign Office labeled the directive a “precautionary step” to safeguard citizens as the conflict threatens to destabilize the broader Middle East. Regional analysts warn that continued escalation could draw in neighboring countries and complicate diplomatic efforts.

With the Iran-Israel war entering its second week, European powers are now scrambling to de-escalate the situation and revive stalled talks. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that any American involvement will be decided “within two weeks.”

Pakistan has historically maintained a neutral stance on Middle Eastern conflicts, but the current situation has prompted swift action to protect its diaspora and avoid entanglement in the rapidly evolving crisis.
