Islamabad, June 21, 2025: Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi paid a surprise visit to Lahore Railway Station and Mughalpura Carriage Shop on Friday to inspect the pace and quality of ongoing Pakistan Railways upgrades.

During his inspection, the minister reviewed the new escalator installation, directing the concerned authorities to ensure it becomes fully operational by June 25, in time for peak travel season. He also checked station hygiene and food quality, highlighting the government’s focus on improving passenger experience across the board.

Talking to the media, Abbasi said, “We are committed to providing better facilities for all railway users. These upgrades are part of a broader plan to modernize the railway network.”

The minister then visited the Mughalpura Carriage Shop, where he examined newly procured air-conditioning units for passenger coaches. He instructed officials to accelerate the installation process to ensure comfortable summer travel, stressing that every service promised in the ticket must be delivered without excuse.

Pakistan Railways CEO Aamir Ali Baloch accompanied the minister throughout the visit, reaffirming support for fast-tracked improvements across the railway system.
