Islamabad, June 23, 2025: A formal appeak has been submitted by K-Electric to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for the approval of a Rs. 4.69 per unit decrease in electricity charges for its users under the fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for April 2025.
NEPRA is expected to conduct a hearing on the power provider’s application today. If sanctioned, the suggested reduction would offer a financial relief of Rs. 7.17 billion to K-Electric consumers.
The requested adjustment is attributed to reduced fuel expenses during April and is part of the standard monthly fuel charge correction framework.

This development follows NEPRA’s recent ruling on K-Electric’s write-off appeal, in which the authority approved partial reimbursement of Rs. 50 billion out of the company’s total claims amounting to Rs. 76 billion, related to the Multi-Year Tariff (MYT) control span from FY17 to FY23.
